ASB Official Member Organization:

Benin Bee

Beninvi Education NGO is the official organizer of the Benin National Spelling Bee (BeninBee), Benin’s national spelling bee competition and the country’s official representative to the African Spelling Bee (ASB).

Registered under N°2023/022/PDO/SGD/SAG/SA on February 27, 2023, Beninvi Education is a non-profit organization dedicated to quality, inclusive, and equitable education for all Beninese students.

Since 2016, the NGO has successfully organized the national English spelling bee competition across multiple departments of Benin, mobilizing thousands of secondary school students each year. It is led by an experienced team of educators and social entrepreneurs with deep knowledge of the Beninese education system.

BeninBee’s official status is reflected by its continuous national organization across several regions and its selection of national champions to represent Benin at the African Spelling Bee Championship.

In April 2025, Benin’s 5 national champions competed for the first time at the 7th African Spelling Bee Championship in Abuja, Nigeria, alongside participants from other nations
including Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Rwanda, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and Zambia and others.
