The Ethiopian Spelling Bee (ESB) is Ethiopia’s leading student literacy, vocabulary development, and academic excellence platform. Founded in 2012, ESB promotes literacy, reading culture, vocabulary development, public speaking confidence, critical thinking, leadership skills, and educational excellence among Ethiopian students.
ESB serves as the official African Spelling Bee (ASB) partner organization in Ethiopia and is responsible for organizing and selecting Team Ethiopia representatives for participation in the African Spelling Bee Championship.

Addis Ababa, Dire Dawa, Harar, Jijiga, Gondar, Bahir Dar, Hawassa, Woldiya, Adama, Bishoftu, Batu (Ziway), Shashemene, and Nekemte.
