Understanding The Contest:

How The Bee Runs

The competition is conducted in structured stages:
School Level: Schools conduct internal spelling bees to select representatives
Regional Competitions: Selected learners compete within their regions (e.g., Manzini, Hohho, Lubombo and Shiselweni.)

National Finals: Top learners from all regions qualify for the national championship

Categories: Competitions are divided into junior (5-6 years, 7-8 years, and 9-10) and senior ( 11-14 years and 15-17 years) categories

Rules: Words are announced orally, and learners must spell them correctly without assistance. Elimination continues until winners are determined.
Workshops are also conducted for teachers to explain rules, preparation methods, and competition standards.
